Day 1 of Event #63: $1,500 Six-Handed 10-Game Mix has come to a close. After 10 full levels of play, Bryn Kenney emerged as the chip leader at the end of the night with 67,000 in chips.

The day began with 485 hopefuls hitting the felt with the hopes of winning the final mixed bracelet of the 2014 World Series of Poker. By the end of the day just 85 players bagged up and now have a real shot at achieving that goal. While Kenney bagged up the biggest stack in the room, other noteworthy players are right on his heels. Two-time bracelet winner Scott Clements consistently trended up the chip counts throughout the day and had a surge in the last few levels of the night. He bagged up 55,825 and will be a serious contender returning on Day 2. Justin Bonomo, who began his day with a Day 3 elimination in Event #59: $3,000 Omaha Hi-Low, hopped in this event and thrived as the day progressed. Bonomo bagged 49,050 and will be searching for his second career bracelet on Thursday.

The aforementioned players sit toward the top of the chip counts, but dozens of other familiar faces bagged up and will be in contention during tomorrow's play. Other players returning for Day 3 include Andrey Zaichenko (46,300), Sergey Rybachenko (45,250), Eric Wasserson (45,000), Mike Leah (37,625), Victor Ramdin (37,125), Randy Ohel (35,925), Allen Cunningham (35,075), Daniel Negreanu (30,150), Alex Rocha (22,600), Marcel Luske (20,200), Dutch Boyd (17,225), Chris Moneymaker (15,000), and Phil Laak (8,925).

While those players thrived throughout the day, others sat down only to see elimination before the day's conclusion. Players such as Maria Ho, Jimmy Fricke, Brandon Cantu, Max Pescatori, David Chiu, George Danzer, Gavin Smith, Mike Gorodinsky, Matt Glantz, Jeff Madsen, Calen McNeil, and Eli Elezra are just a small sample size of those to hit the rail.

Play resumes at 2 p.m. local time in the Amazon Room where the field will play another ten full levels on the quest through the money bubble and beyond. As always, PokerNews will be on hand throughout the day to provide live updates from the tournament felt.

Three More Hands

• Taso 10

Tournament staff has announced three more hands before bagging and tagging for the night.

Moneymaker Busts Brown

• Taso 10

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

We found Andrew Brown all in and at risk before the draw for about 6,000 and action folded around to Chris Moneymaker who shipped all in over the top from the small blind. The big blind folded and Moneymaker drew one, prompting a pat from Brown. Moneymaker fanned {7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Brown announced that he patted a jack. Moneymaker instantly rolled over a {9-}, making a ninety-seven and scoring the knockout.

Mizrachi Takes Most

• Taso 10

Omaha 8

We arrived at the table in time to find Andrey Zaichenko and Michael Mizrachi take a flop with a third player already all in and at risk. The dealer fanned {5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and both active players checked to the {K-Diamonds} turn. Zaichenko led with a bet, Mizrachi came over the top, and Zaichenko called.

The {6-Diamonds} rivered and Zaichenko check-folded to one more bet from Mizrachi. Mizrachi opened {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, playing his queen-ten for a flush. The all-in player showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} for a low and took half of the main pot. Mizrachi won the other half with his high and all of the side pot. He's now up to about 10,000 in chips.

Tens Good For Steury

• Taso 9

No-Limit Hold'em

On a flop of {5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Aaron Steury checked over to his lone opponent who fired 950. Steury flatted to see the {5-Clubs} pair the board on the turn. Steury checked for a second time and his opponent knocked the table back.

Fifth street was the {J-Clubs} and Steury checked one final time. A check behind allowed Stuery to table {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a winning two pair of tens and fives. Stuery picked up the pot and boosted his stack to about 33,000.
